    Sixcolleges.org is hosting a shared virtual admission event from six top-ranked liberal arts colleges: Amherst, Bowdoin, Carleton, Pomona, Swarthmore, and Williams. This event is for students and their families to help answer questions about the college search process and will specifically address:

    New friends and new interests; leadership and shared purpose—there are many ways our busy campuses create opportunities outside the classroom. We will explore life on campus, including how our colleges prepare you for the world after graduation.

    Class 9 Community Service Project

    Class 9 will be involved in community service from 7:30 AM to 12:00 PM (12 PM early dismissal). Freshmen should arrive at the Taub parking lot by 7:30 AM and report to their Advisor for attendance and collection of their signed waiver (Houston Food Bank waiver.pdf). We'll have a quick grab-and-go breakfast taco and load the buses for service at the Houston Food Bank.  Students should wear their Community Service t-shirt (which they will receive in Advisory prior to the project), comfortable bottoms, and closed-toe shoes. We will return by bus and students will be ready for pick up at the Taub lot a little after noon. Pizza will be served following the project. No on-campus lunch will be provided for 9th graders. If you are unable to pick up your student at that time, please send them with lunch, and they can sit in the Academic Commons or Flores Hall until they are picked up. 

    PSAT (Class 10)

    Class 10 should report directly to the AAC (“old gym”) by 7:45 AM. Sophomores with College Board-approved Extended Time will test in the Fine Arts Annex (next to the VST). Students should bring two pencils and an approved graphing calculator to the exam (students are also encouraged to bring calculator batteries). Students will need to bring their cell phones to check their seat assignments. Mrs. Soto will email them at 6:00 am on the morning of the exam. Students may not bring phones or smartwatches into the testing room--they will be collected upon entering the roomAfter the students take the PSAT in the morning, they will be free to leave campus (approximately 12:30 PM). Students who are taking the PSAT with College Board-approved extended time will finish around 2:15 PM. No lunch will be served on campus to sophomores.     Class 12 Life Skills

    Seniors will enjoy breakfast together at 8:30 AM in Flores Hall and then will rotate through the life skills sessions until 12:00 PM. More information regarding the location of each activity will be provided to them by their advisor. *Please note that attendance will be taken on this day. Seniors will be dismissed at noon and no lunch will be served. If your student cannot be picked up at that time, please send them with lunch, and they can sit in the Academic Commons or Flores Hall until they are picked up.

    This session is aimed at those curious about NYU's global opportunities and who would like to ask questions in a relaxed and informal setting (feel free to drop in at any time during the hour). Candidates who are about to apply to NYUAD are also very welcome to ask for application advice! I'll be there to answer any questions and debunk all myths. Please note that, while I can also answer questions about NYU New York and Shanghai, we will focus here on the NYU Abu Dhabi experience.
