The first part of the three-part Wellness series entitled "Mental Health and the Pandemic", Dr. Michele Borba, world-renowned speaker and author, will return to the SJS community virtually to offer parenting insights to allow our children to thrive in an anxious and uncertain world. Dr. Borba will present seven traits that science says matter most in happiness and success and to help our kids thrive both now and later. She will offer tools and tips from her most recent book "Thrivers: The Surprising Reasons Why Some Kids Struggle and Others Shine". Registration link coming soon.
The second part of the three-part SJS Wellness series "Mental Health and the Pandemic", Dr. Wendy Pyatt-Oliver, a recognized leader in the field of eating disorders and founder of Oliver-Pyatt and Clementine residential treatment centers, will host a virtual gathering to discuss the difficult topic of childhood and adolescent eating disorders. The third and final part of the SJS Wellness mini-series "Mental Health and the Pandemic", Dr. Julie Kaplow, executive director of The Trauma and Grief Center at The Hackett Center of Mental Health, will highlight the psychological impact of the pandemic. This virtual presentation will focus on the ways in which different mental health issues may manifest in children of different ages and describe concrete steps that parents and caregivers can take in order to support their children during times of stress.
