Support St. John's
Endowment gifts are often referred to as “ultimate gifts” because their impact is permanent in nature. These gifts support St. John’s in perpetuity and often have profound meaning in the lives of the donors. Endowment gifts can be directed in a number of different ways.
To establish a new fund, the current minimum thresholds apply:
Gifts for unrestricted endowment can be made at any dollar level. Unrestricted endowment gifts provide the highest degree of flexibility for determining the best use of endowment yield in fulfilling the overall mission of the institution.
Attracting and retaining faculty leadership is a major priority. These leaders set the tone for other faculty members and serve as mentors to others as they grow professionally. Their role as pacesetters is a cornerstone to achieving continued excellence in the academic experience and achievement for St. John’s students. Department Chairs are permanently endowed funds that provide yield necessary to attract and retain such faculty leaders.
These Chairs will now be awarded for an eight-year term or until the recipient leaves St. John’s. They provide $10,000 per year for faculty development with the expectation that the recipient will utilize skills and knowledge gained to mentor fellow faculty and will report progress back to the donor.
Master Teacher Awards will now be awarded for a five-year term or until the recipient leaves St. John’s. They provide $7,000 per year for faculty development with the expectation that the recipient will utilize skills and knowledge gained to mentor fellow faculty and will report progress back to the donor.
The Headmaster’s Student Assistance Fund is critical in providing support to students for numerous costs that go beyond the reach of financial aid, including field trips, SAT prep classes, extracurricular activities, and other costs that can be prohibitive for participation.
