Champs Going to Jerry's World

Girls' Varsity Lacrosse is ready to make history, again.  The defending state champs, arguably the best program in the Lone Star State, is set to play at Cowboys Stadium on March 19th alongside a familiar women's college match-up.
Last May in Dallas, the St. John’s Girls’ Varsity Lacrosse team won its fourth State Championship in six years. ESPN Rise picks the Mavs to repeat in 2011.  Before the playoffs begin, however, they will again travel north on I-45 to take their game to one of the most recognized sports venues in the world: Dallas Cowboys Stadium.
The Mavericks have been invited to play prior to an NCAA D1 game between Northwestern (currently ranked #2) and William and Mary (currently ranked #19). Cowboys Stadium is the largest venue to ever host women’s lacrosse. St. John’s will square off against Episcopal School of Dallas at 2 PM on Saturday, March 19th.
SJS Alum Hannah Clarke (’09) is a red-shirt sophomore on William and Mary’s squad. Maverick captain Jessica Carroll (’11) has signed to play for Northwestern next year.
Besides Carroll, senior co-captain, Sarah Duncan ('11), has also signed with Davidson College, and Grace Dennis ('11) is set to play for Colgate University. For more on Dennis's quest to play at the collegiate level, please click here.
Come support the Mavericks and be a part of women’s lacrosse history!
