Mavericks dominate Lamar

Brenda Mercado
Lamar had the ball to start the game, but the Mavericks intercepted a pass and took the ball down the field where Grace passed to Chloe to Virginia for the first score of the game with 23:52 on the clock.  The second goal of the first half came 10 minutes later when Ginny pushed the ball to Virginia and her deflection went into the goal past the goalie.

Second half of the game the Mavericks came out all pistols firing.  The Mavericks were able to score 5 goals in the 25 minutes of play.  The first goal was scored by Grace on an awesome push to the back of the cage.  The second goal the ball was dribbled down the right side of the field by Christina and pushed to the middle of the circle where Chloe was ready to tip the ball on into the goal.  The third goal was assisted by April and scored by Audrey.  April was able to score number 4 and 5 goals unassisted.  The Mavericks did allow Lamar to score off a corner at the 18:50 mark of the second half.  Claire, our goalie had a great save in the second half to keep Lamar from scoring two in the game.

Final score Mavericks 7 Lamar 1.

The Mavericks will travel to Ft. Worth this weekend to play All Saints and Trinity Valley.
