The Mavericks came ready to play against the Second Baptist Eagles. Getting a quick start St. John's jumped on the Eagles to gain a good lead at the half 22-9 playing some tough defense and putting in the shots offensively. The second half was closer with Second Baptist trying to make a run but the Mavericks were able to hold on down the stretch making 6 of 10 free throws to seal the victory. Scoring for the Mavericks were Jack Russ 10, Jonathan Newar 10, Yusef Chabayta 9, Matthew Ainbinder 8 and Andrew Vogeley, Henry Shepherd and Micheal Cregan each with 2. Shepherd and Cregan got theirs at the line going 2 for 2 to help pull away at the end.
