Mavericks score two goals to beat the Falcons

The Mavericks traveled to Falcon territory on Tuesday to try and keep their winning streak alive.  The Mavericks were missing two starters form the line up, but it didn't seem to phase them.  They went on attack and were able to score a goal in the first five minutes of the game.  The Mavericks pushed the ball up the right side of the field where Christina had a beautiful cross and Virginia and poised and ready for the deflection.  The rest of the half the ball was up and down the field but neither team was able to score.  Halftime Mavericks 1 Falcons 0

In the second half the Mavericks were able to go on attack from the beginning of the game.  They were able to put together a combination of good passes with Grace shooting towards goal and Christina reverse tip into the goal.  The defense played outstanding in the second half barely allowing the ball to cross our 25 yard line.  The defensive stand was lead by Ginny along with Annie, Alyyah, Samantha, and Molly.  The mid field did a great job of support the offensive and transitioning the ball from the defense.  This was led by Jessica, Grace, Kendall, Sasha, and Morgan.  Our Goalie Claire only saw a couple of shots on goal.  So the final score Mavericks 2 Falcons 0.

The Mavericks next opponent will be away at  Duchesne on Tuesday, October 4th at 4:30.
