MAVERICKS "CHAPPED" IN THE PENALTY BOX
With the boys in recovery mode after the first game, a cold front snapped through the Woodlands, dropping the temperature and letting out rain that made for a mixture of a true “Mudslinger.”
The Mavericks took an early lead off of Cameron Cuenod’s unassisted goal, but as
the temperature dropped, so did the Mav’s. St. John’s found the penalty box more often than the ball, and Westlake took advantage of EMO opportunities to negate any rallies from the boys in scarlet and black. When the sky cleared it was Westlake 6, St. John’s 3.
