Upper Elementary (4th or 5th Grade) Language Arts and Social Studies Teacher for 2018-2019
St. John’s School seeks an upper elementary grade reading and writing teacher for integrated language arts and social studies instruction. Successful candidates will, first and foremost, have a passion for working with elementary students, as well as experience guiding students through a reading and writing workshop model of instruction. Reading, writing, and research skills across the two content areas are integrated through the Teachers College Reading and Writing Project's Units of Study with interdisciplinary social studies units woven throughout the course of the year.
Candidates will have a BA in Elementary Education or English (MA preferred), at least three years of teaching experience, and experience integrating technology to support instruction. St. John’s School seeks educators who are innovative and reflective, open to feedback, and eager for professional collaboration.
Interested candidates should email a letter of interest and resume to Ms. Chris Curran, Head of Lower School (firstname.lastname@example.org).
