Congratulations to Middle School Swimming and Girls' Soccer for being crowned 2017 HJPC Champions. Middle School Wrestling took hold of the 2017 Houston City and Texas State titles.
In the HJPC conference swim meet the Maverick Girls' and Boys' teams finished second with a total of 72 and 67 points respectively. St. John's combined score of 139 points was good enough for first place, 18 points ahead of runner-up Presbyterian School. The Village School finished third followed by Duchesne, Second Baptist, St. Francis and Kinkaid. Ella Flowers '22 set HJPC records in the 100 yard IM (1:03.71) and the 50 yard butterfly (28.89).
Girls' Soccer shut out AOS 4-0 in the championship game, finishing 16-0 on the season.
St. John's Middle School Wrestling team won their third consecutive Houston City Championship. The Mavericks dominated the event with a team score of 269 points. Hogg Middle School finished second with 140 points followed by St. Francis at 129. The Mavericks topped it off with their third consecutive state title edging out host team Liberty Christian 197.5 to 189.
