St. John's Boys' and Girls' Varsity Swimming finished first and third respectively at the recent Coastal Bend TISCA Zone meet held in Corpus Christi.  Led by seven first place finishes, Maverick Boys' compiled 475 points, over 100 points ahead of second place Flour Bluff High School. The Maverick Girls' posted five first place finishes good enough for 223 points.
Three school records were broken this weekend for the Mavericks.  Paul Schwartz '18 - 500 Freestyle (5:02.52), Eric Wang '20 - 100 Breaststroke (1:02.76), and Henry Philpott '18 - One Meter Diving (270.50) landed in the school record books. Katie Shelburne '20 - 500 Freestyle (5:26.87), Cooper Lueck '17 - 200 Individual Medley (2:04.76), and Sydney Buchman '20 - 100 Breaststroke (1:09.55) set TISCA meet records. 

"The team looked real good in the meet and I was proud on how they conducted themselves," said Head Coach Ron Raper.

There were fourteen teams in the meet (13 - UIL 5A teams and 1 private school team (SJ)

St. John's followed up with a combined (girls and boys) team win on Senior night vs EHS and Kinkaid.  Don't miss the next record breaking performance.
