SJS Coach Sam Chambers Honored by Texas Lacrosse Organizations

St. John's is proud to announce that Coach Sam Chambers has been honored with two distinguished awards from the Texas High School Lacrosse League (THSLL) and the Texas Lacrosse Officials Association (TXLOA).
Presented at the Mavericks Athletics Ceremony on Thursday, May 12, TXLOA named its sportsmanship and coaching excellence award after Coach Chambers. The Sam Chambers Award for Sportsmanship and Coaching Excellence will be awarded annually by vote of TXLOA officials to a deserving lacrosse coach in Texas who has exhibited the highest standards of sportsmanship and coaching excellence both on and off the field and whose players have honored the sport of lacrosse by playing the game with the same highest standards of sportsmanship.
Chambers will also be presented the THSLL Coach Earl Bill Award for Lifetime Achievement at this weekend's Boys Lacrosse Final 4 tournament. This special THSLL Commissioner's award is given periodically to coaches or administrators who have had a significant impact on THSLL. In addition, he has also been named THSLL South Zone Person of the Year.
Chambers has just completed his 24th and final season as the St. John's Mavericks Head Coach for the Varsity Boys Lacrosse team. Please join us in congratulating Coach Chambers and thanking him for all that he has done for the lacrosse programs at St. John's and throughout the state of Texas!
