Congratulations to Frank Hogan '93 for being inducted into the Harvard Varsity Club Hall of Fame for baseball.

While at St. John's Frank Hogan was unable to play football, but he played basketball and excelled in the sport of baseball.  Having a passion for the game, Frank was All-SPC in 1991, 1992, and 1993, seving as a captain in his senior season.  Playing beside Marty Thompson '91, Hogan pitched in the 1991 championship game against Episcopal, helping lead St. John's to its last SPC title with a 2-1 win.

Hogan was a four year athlete at Harvard and was named both Harvard Pitcher of the Year and Ivy League Pitcher of the Year in his senior season for the Crimson.  That season he helped defeat the #8 ranked Miami Hurricanes and the #4 ranked UCLA Bruins in the NCAA tournament.

"Every year before SPC counter games start, Hogan gives the St. John's team a pep talk to remind them that anything is possible,'' said Varsity Baseball Assistant Coach Alan Paul.  "Hogan reminded us that his St. John's championship team was not the best on paper, but they had a chance because they played as a team."

"He was a great player, and more importantly, he is a great role model for our guys," said Varsity Baseball Head Coach T Riley.
