Mary Ashleigh Bowls Over the ODAC & AVCA

M.A. Boles ('10) leads the Washington and Lee Generals to the NCAA tournament with a wake of honors and 1 more with the AVCA.

Mary Ashleigh Boles ('10) has gone by “M.A.” for most of her life. Those letters would make a simple license plate in the Lone Star state. When she travels back to Houston from Virginia for Thanksgiving she may want to create a complex vanity tag with a few more fonts. Parking her car on campus in Lexington, Virginia this fall, little did she know that she would tote with her a volleyball game as big as Texas. From day one, she has piled up a mountain of monikers that could keep the DMV thriving: Aces leader, back-to-back tournament MVP, back-to-back ODAC Volleyball Player of the Week, ODAC Honor Role student-athlete, ODAC Rookie of the Year, First Team All-ODAC, and just in: American Volleyball Coaches Association South Region Freshman of the Year.  These are all tags that will go with Boles for a lifetime, but for now, “M.A.,” Mary Ashleigh, or “MA-MA-Mia” will work!
