St. John's alumni, David Lawrence (SJS '06) and Matthew Starke (SJS '06), celebrated another championship defeating Gettysburg in the Centennial Conference Championships last weekend.
Starke and D-Law won many city titles for the Mavericks in addition to a state championship in 2006. Lawrence ran for captain for the St. John's 2006 team. He did not get that title, but four years later, he became a captain of the Black Squirrels of Haverford.
"I just wanted to let you know that I was fortunate enough to be elected captain this year. I'll never forget you encouraging me back in high school to run for captain. A vote of confidence then meant a lot and it's come full circle now. Starke is doing great and is one of the hardest workers on the team. SJS is doing well for the squirrels," said Lawrence.
