Big Splash for 6th Grade Cross Country Meet

Sam Chambers
With an audience of 7th and 8th grade students taking a break from exams, 6th grade boys and girls ran in the rain with grit and glory.
The 6th Grade PE students ran in the "Advisory Cup" cross country race Monday, December 14, 2009.  The race was a one mile route through the south campus fields on a chilly, rainy, muddy day.  The boys and girls ran in advisory teams, and the Oregon Ducks (Mcnair Hughes' advisory) won the team competition, followed by Villanova (Gordon Center Advisory), and Wisconsin (Sandy McLanahan's advisory).  The individual boys' champion and overall race winner was Joseph Faraguna, and the girls' individual champion was Kelsey Bing.  All of the athletes ran hard and endured the wet and muddy conditions like troopers.  Congratulations to all!
