Mavericks Take Moms in Bruising Battle

The Mavericks came away victorious for the ninth straight year in the Annual Mother/Daughter matchup, but the win didn't come easy as the Moms (and a few dads) put up a fight.  The Mavericks took an early 2 goal lead as the Moms tried to find their footing.  Once they did, they came roaring back, bridal veils and all, to the tie the score at 2 for the half.  After a much needed break, the players retook the field and the Mavs again captured the lead, but the Moms stuck to the guns to claw back with a coast to coast goal provided by one of the Mav siblings, subbing in for a winded mom.  The score stayed tied at 3 for several minutes, before the Mavericks finally broke the log jam in the waning minutes to end the game victorious at 4-3.  Cake, cookies and lemonaide greeted the tired victors and moms alike.  Great game and lots of fun !
