JV2 Boys tie Kinkaid
An evenly played matched ended in a 7-7 tie as the Falcons scored with 27.8 seconds remaining to prevent the Mavs from earning their first victory of the season.
The Mavs jumped out to a 3-1 lead in the 1st Qtr on two (2) unassisted goals by Alex Unger and a nice breakaway goal by Jose Ordonez, but the Falcons stormed back in the 2nd qtr by scoring three unanswered goals and taking a 4-3 lead in to half.
The Mav responded with their best play of the game in the 3rd Qtr as they scored three unanswered goals themselves to take a 6-4 lead going in to the 4th Qtr. The 4th Qtr went back and forth with the Falcons scoring the first 2 goals of the quarter to knot the score at 6-6 with 1.42 remaining. The Mavs scored quickly to take a 7-6 lead on a breakaway goal following a face off by Spencer Rasmussen with 1.32 remaining. After the Mavs took a penalty with 1.20 remaining to go a man down, Kinkaid was able to find the back of the net for the game tying goal with 27.8 seconds remaining and close out the scoring for both teams.
