Athletic Highlights

Catherine Franklin scored two goals to lead the Mavs to victory for a second time against a strong St. Francis team Friday. Once again, the Maverick defense proved a tough match for their competition, with Katharine Romfelt, Joan Scheirman, Hayden Foutch, Lauren Mellor-Crummey and Lauren Wilson in Goal holding back the St. Francis attack. Caroline Dawson, Olivia Herbert, Maura Lindsay, Alex Gandle, Sarah Burkett and Megan Longoria all pressured the St. Francis Goalie and had several near scoring opportunities. In the mid-field, Paige Hawley, Charlotte Iupe, Janie Wilde, Cici Hedgpeth and Daisy Wolf all kept the ball under control and in St. Johns' possession. The Mavs improved their undefeated record to 6-0-1 and finish out their regular season next week before entering the city finals.
