Athletic Highlights

The Mavericks came out swinging early and dominated almost the entire game. Catherine Franklin made the first goal, unassisted, followed by two goals from Paige Hawley with assists from Janie Wilde and Olivia Herbert. Lauren Wilson tacked on several more saves in goal, and with the help of Katharine Romfelt, Hayden Foutch, Margaret Mauel and Joan Scheirman on defense, kept the Falcons scoreless until the final minutes. The Mavs so far this season have only been scored upon twice! Susan Frost, Caroline Dawson and Liliana Varman all had opportunities to score, with several just missing, and one from Varman that hit the post. Charlotte Iupe, Lauren Mellor-Crummey, Jennifer Lewis and Olivia Herbert helped dominate the midfield, and two newcomers to hockey, Daisy Wolf and CiCi Hedgpeth from N.O., both showed great improvement and helped the Mavericks put another victory on the books!
