Welcome home!

Your JV1 Mavericks brought home everything that they learned during our intense weekend of competition and put it on display on Finnegan this afternoon against the St. Agnes Tigers. The coaches were impressed to see each and every player implement the weekend's hard-fought lessons. As a team, we passed, shot, defended and communicated very well. That great team play resulted not only in seven goals, but also in an opportunity for each player to try some new positions. Again, when asked to try something new and challenging, each player stepped up and did a great job. One indicator of our great play was the hat trick scored by  Claire Seinsheimer, who typically plays left back. Her first was on a corner off of the insert by Grace Nockolds. Her second came from a series of passes from the other two backs, Mary Louise Mannon and Campbell Lee, while all three were playing forward. Her third also came from a defensive player, Margaux Marinelli. Eloise Reasoner also had two goals. One was off a deflection from the goalie and the other from a nice assist from Dylan Hoover. Dylan also assisted on Emma Britton's goal. In addition, Grace Nockolds added to her assist with her own unassisted goal. All in all, a great night for the Mavericks! Next we take on the Memorial Varsity on Thursday at 6:30 on Finnegan.
