Two Alums to Perform at Carnegie Hall with Texas Medical Center Orchestra
On May 24, the Texas Medical Center Orchestra will perform a concert titled "Houston Proud: A Celebration of Hope" at New York's famed Carnegie Hall with Bayou City Chorale and KIPP SHARP Singers. Two of the first section violinists for TMCO are SJS alums Kershena Liao '05 and Mark Stadnyk '06.
On May 24, the Texas Medical Center Orchestra will perform a concert titled "Houston Proud: A Celebration of Hope" at New York's famed Carnegie Hall with Bayou City Chorale and KIPP SHARP Singers. Two of the first section violinists for TMCO are SJS alums Kershena Liao '05 and Mark Stadnyk '06.
The program will feature Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5 and John Rutter’s “Mass of the Children” along with other uplifting choral and orchestral works under the direction of Maestra Libi Lebel, Artistic Director of TMCO, Maestro Linus Lerner, Artistic Director of BCPA, and Maestra Laura Taylor, Director of the KIPP SHARP Singers. A new work written by pediatric patients at the Texas Children’s Cancer and Hematology Centers “Purple Songs Can Fly” (PSCF) music therapy recording studio and orchestrated by J. Todd Frazier, Director of the Methodist Hospital Center for Performing Arts Medicine will be presented by PSCF founder and Director, Anita Kruse.
There is also a preview concert on Saturday, May 11 at 7:30 p.m. in Houston at the Wortham Center. The show "Experience Excitement... On Our Way to Carnegie Hall" and tickets are available HERE.
