In their first game as 8th graders, the Mavericks took on the Presbyterian School Panthers. Despite the heat, the Mavericks dominated the first half offensively, scoring 6 goals as well as defensively, preventing the Panthers from even taking a shot on goal. All 6 goals were scored by different players which included Mary Pat, Alanna, Lizzy F., Lindsey, Alice, and Jennifer. These goals were assisted by Lizzy E., Alanna, Maggie, and Hannah.

In the second half, the Mavericks focused on keeping the field spread and swinging the ball. With the focus away from scoring, the girls were able to work on specific skills and playing together as a unit. The final score was Mavericks 6, Panthers 0.
