Girls Break DMR Record and Gamble Runs Personal Best to Finish 7th in 1600 Meters

The Distance Medley Relay team of Anne Johnson, Stephanie Guo, Nicole Gras, and Sara Patterson broke the St. John's school record at the Texas Relays with a time of 12:58.71. the old record of 13:09.95 was held by Catie Reynolds, Meredith Gamble, Nelly Kontchou, and Kelley Harrison.
Meredith Gamble ran a new personal best in the 1600 meters, finishing 7th in a time of 5:07.91. She is closing in on Laura Wilson's school record of 5:03.3 set in 1984.
The girls team of Sam Night, Jackie Modesett, Jasmine Larry, and Tola Emiola overcame a bad handoff to run 52.11 automatic, beating all other SPC schools in the event. The boys team of Bowden Kelly, Jonathan Bradford, Jack Kempner, and Sam Jamison suffered badly on a handoff in the 4x100, putting them well off the normal performance range.
The Outstanding Performers of the Meet were Meredith Gamble and Sam Jamison, and Most Improved were Sara Patterson and Stephanie Guo for the girls.
