The boys posted several personal bests on the first day of the SPC Championships. Blaine Finley cleared 14'0 to win the Pole Vault in an exciting competition. Vincent Lujan tied for 10th with a 9'6 vault matching his PR. Michael Sims was 7th in the Shot Put with a 4 foot PR of 48'6.5 in a competition where the top 7 performers exceeded the winning throw from 2004! Jonathan Adkins also PRed in the Shot Put. Mike Marek PRed to finish 6th in the 3200m with a time of 10:17; Hubert Lee and Mark Stoehr ran great PRs of 11:01 and 11:03 in the 3200m. John Griffin PRed in the 400, Evan Howell PRed in the 300 Hurdles to qualify 2nd, Greg Cook PRed with a 23.80 in the 200m, the 4 x 100 qualified for finals, and the 4 x 800 team of Rohan Balsaver, Mike Marek, Ryan Hodgson and Richard Fisher finished 7th with Fisher and Hodgson running PR splits! The boys are tied for 4th place with 19 points after the first day of competition.
