Mavericks had two great days of competition at the Nick Finnegan Spring Invitational. In addition to winning the meet, the girls set many season and career personal records. In the 200 Miller and Chen set season PRs, finishing 1 (26.0)and 5 (27.8) respectively. Lauren Murdock scored for the Mavs with her 28.7 time to finish 10th. Lizzie Thomas scored 8 for the team with her 5th place finish in a time of 1:09, while Haley Dawson finished 8th with her season PR time of 1:10.8. Courtney Miller Had an amazing season, career and SJS record setting performance record in the 100m dash! Lauren Murdock also scored for the Mavs with her 5th place finish in 13.0. Magee contributed 6 points to the Maverick total with her 13.3, 6th place finish. All of the 800m runners season PRed with Caite Reynolds finishing 3rd in 2:35.9, Alex Addison finished 5th in 2:38.1 and Kaleta Johnson finished 8th in 2:44. In the 1500m run Emily Watkins ran a very competitive race and outkicked a John Cooper competitor to finish 2nd in 5:23.4. Kaleta finished 6th with her 5:48 run! In the 3000 the Mavs had a 1-2 punch with Melissa Hulme again demonstrating her capacity with her 1st place finish in 11:04, and Emily Watkins running to second with 12:01. Sallie had a busy couple of days of firsts - Long Jump, 100h (16.4), 300H (47.3)- a season PR. Also in the 300h, Magee season pred with her 52.7 finish. Melton scored with her 6th place finish of 53.8. The 4x100 set a season PR with the team of Miller, Murdock, Chen and ARmstrong - 51.8 (.3 off from #1 team EHS). The 4x400 also set a season PR time in 4:17.5 to finish second (again behind EHS by 2.2 seconds). In the 4x8, the team of Reynolds, Addison, HOdgson, and Watkins took home 20 points for their first place finish. Freshman phenom, Victoria Gilcrease tied her career pr with her 4'8" jump, earning her 3rd. Magee jumped 4'6" to finish 5th. Connor cleared 4-4 to finish 10th and score for the Mavs. Gilcrease also was our top vaulter for the day by clearing 8'. Wessels tied her career pr with her vault of 6'6". The Mavs swept the long jump with Sallie in 1st (15-9.5"), Jess in 2nd with 15'4" and Captain Magee in 3rd with 14'5.5 Lauren Murdock set a season pr in the triple jump at 28'11.25". In shot Christine set a career PR with her throw of 28'10.5". SAm scored one point with her throw of 22'. In discus, OOOOwuuuuuuusu took 2nd with her throw of 88'5", Wright took 5th with 78'2", Lott set a season pr and scored for her throw of 64'1" and ABailey set a season PR with her throw of 47'2".
