SJS GIRLS WIN SPRING INVITATIONAL

The SJS girls team takes first place at the SJS invitational! Melissa Hulme had a strong showing in this meet, with two first place finishes. Hulme finished first in the 3K and 1500m with 10:56 and 5:15 respective finishing times. Captain Laura Nielsen finished second in the 3K with a time of 11:50 and third in 1500m in 5:38. Field events scored 79 of the team's total points. Sallie Armstrong led our long jumpers with a season's best mark of 15'4" to finish 4th. Danielle Magee again cleared 4'6" at the high jump to finish 4th, first among our Southern SPC schools. Sophia Golvach was our top performer at the triple jump, finishing 7th for her 30'7" jump. Stephanie Melton matched her career PR performance with a vault of 8' to finish 3rd in the pole vault. Samantha Lott threw 25', finishing 5th in the shot put. Owusu Brackett finished third for her throw of 86'2". Christine Wright also scored for the Rebels with her PR throw of 81'6". In the 800, Captain Lauren Bell finished second overall for her 2:36.04 effort. In the 100hurdles, Sallie Armstrong finished second behind Rachel Greff of St. Agnes. Sallie ran her third best time of the season, 16.99. Captain Jacqui Keller finished fourth in the 100m in 13.85. Courtney Miller, ran 61.9, a PR in the 400m, to finish second. In the 300H, Sallie Armstrong ran her second best time of the season, 48.29, to finish second overall. Danielle Magee ran her best time this season, she finished the 300H in 53.77. Courtney Miller finished the 200m in 27.74, earning a fourth place finish. In team standings St. John's rallied 229.5 points to eek out EHS by 4. Kinkaid finished third with a total of 186, while Stagnes and DASH scored 155 and 115 respectively. This meet was scored through 10th place (12-10-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1) for individual events.
