The Mavericks captured the South Zone championship, thus securing 1st seed going into next week's SPC tournament, defeating the Falcons 2-0 at Kinkaid Field.  The Mavericks scored midway through the first half on an Epner drive from the top of the D.  The Mavericks followed up soon after the half on a beautiful VanLoh deflection into the Falcon netting off a hard insert from Avery.  The Maverick defense played poised and confident defense.  Coupled with impressive goalie work from both Bing and Manela, the Mavericks tallied another shutout on the season.  Congratulations on the conference win and championship.  The team now sets its sights on preparing for the SPC tournament next weekend in FW.
