The Mavericks played the Knights from Episcopal High School on Friday in the regular South Zone season schedule.  The Knights thwarted a first inning bases loaded challenge by the Mavericks.  St. John's would give up one run to EHS in the bottom of the first.  EHS tacked on two more on a two run homer to make it 3-0.  SJS would score in the top of the 5th when senior captain Anna Cain would reach on a single, steal second and score on a double by Carson Black.  Black was thrown out at third on the play as she hustled to the bag and looked to beat the questionable call of being out.  EHS would score two more times in the bottom of the fifth for their final runs.

The loss creates a three way log jam at the top between Kinkaid, Episcopal and St.  John's.  Seedings for SPC will now come down to run differential.  But as the team discussed after the game, "We don't care about seeding, we want the title."

The team will do "What ever it takes," to get the job done.
