Mavs defeat next door opponent
Playing the Lamar Redskins for the first time in 15 years in a regular season game, the Mavs spotted the Skins one run in the top of the first and never looked back.
Anna Cain took the second pitch of the game for her first over the fence home run of the year. SJS would never look back as they scored 4 in the second and third innings to get the win.
In addition, Meredith Lloyd had 3 hits. Carson Black, Jess Vlasek, and Sarah Gow had two hits each. Paige and Tanvi Varadhachary had one hit each to round out the offensive attack.
It was a game in which all 14 members of the varsity saw some type of action.
Paige Killelea and AB Brooks combined for the win in striking out 13 of the 21 batters they faced.
