Mavs push Collins to brink
The Mavericks gave the defending 5A Region Champion from 2012 all they could handle for 4 innings as the Mavericks bats came alive and stellar defense was turned in by the SJS.
Highlights on Offense for the Mavs were Jess Vlasek going 2 for two with a solo homerun in the first inning and a triple. Jess would score on the play on an error by Collins. AB Pacha, Tanvi Varadhachary. Cat Arrendondo would chip in one hit each. Rebecca Reza would join Vlasek with multiple hits as well.
AB Pacha was tough for Collins as she recorded 5Ks vs 4BB's against this powerhouse.
Despite not winning any games in this early round robin. The Mavericks know they were missing some key players and that playing five games in two days was better than practice.
With every one returning to action next week, the Mavs will look to rebound vs the Blue Jays from Needville in the first round of the BISD Round Robin.
