In the afternoon game of the Katy ISD Round Robin, the Mavericks faced off against 4A preseason district favorite Richmond George Ranch.
The Mavericks jumped out to an early lead against the Longhorns on a two run bomb by Jessica Vlasek in the top of the first inning. Vlasek drove in Carson Black who lead off with a walk. Vlasek's shot was a line drive to deep center field at Cinco Ranch.
AB Pacha and Rebecca Reza had one hit each as did Vlasek. Courtnay Buaas had two hits.
Pacha pitched a great game recording 10 K's and giving up 4 hits, issuing 0 walks.
The Longhorns won it in the bottom of the 5th in a timed game on a two run triple.
