Upper School Mathematics (starting August 2026)

St. John’s is seeking a talented and knowledgeable mathematics teacher in the Upper School (grades 9-12). In addition to relevant experience and a strong educational background, successful candidates must demonstrate a passion for working with high school-age students, an engaging teaching style, and a commitment to developing the whole child and furthering the School’s mission, including its strategic initiatives on community and inclusion. St. John’s seeks educators who are innovative and reflective, open to feedback, and eager for professional collaboration. The Mathematics Department has developed significant utility in the variety of courses its faculty can teach. Candidates with experience teaching Geometry, Algebra II, Precalculus, Calculus, or post-Calculus electives are encouraged to apply. 

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Teach (4) sections of Upper School mathematics
  • Serve as advisor for approximately 8-10 students and have a strong appreciation for the value of social-emotional learning (SEL)
  • Collaborate and coordinate closely with grade level and course teams
  • Contribute to the Upper School community through sponsoring extracurricular programs
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics or related field; Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in an Upper School program
  • A commitment to developing one’s own cultural competency in a community that celebrates and appreciates diversity.
