Mavericks bust it open for SPC Championship
St. John's defeated the Knights from EHS in the SPC Championship game at EHS. A big sixth inning in which the Mavericks would bat around and score 6 runs busted the game wide open.
The Mavericks would score the first run of the game as A.B. Pacha hit her first home run of the season. EHS would tie the score up on their only hit of the day in the bottom of the inning on a solo shot by their five hole hitter.
In the top of the sixth, the Mavericks would collect 6 hits, steal 3 bases and get one walk to plate the troops. Senior Paige Killelea had the big hit in the inning, a two run double to RF that would score two runs.
A.B. was tough once again in the circle as she issued only 2BB's, and recorded 10K's vs the Knights.
Congrats to all team members, but especially to the five seniors who cap their softball playing days with an SPC Championship. Carson Black, Courtnay Buaas, Anna Cain, Emily Entrekin and Paige Killelea we all wish you the best of luck.
