Class One students will travel to NASA Space Center on February 11th as a culmination of their science and social studies work this year. Please send a 100% disposable sack lunch and drink, labeled with your child’s name. (NO lunch kits, please.) Students should wear jeans, black shorts, or uniform bottoms with a RED shirt (SJS t-shirt or uniform shirt).
Class 4 will travel to the Houston Grand Opera on February 12th for a special matinee performance of Hansel & Gretel. They will get to hear directly from the cast and crew during intermission. If you previously signed up as a chaperone, please watch for an email with details from Julie Ballew. Students should wear their regular school uniform and bring a lunch from home.
All grade levels will have their class Friendship Parties at 2:15 on Friday, February 13th. Students will play a game, have a treat, complete a craft, and listen to a festive story. We kindly ask that only those parents who signed up to volunteer are in attendance.
All students are welcome to bring a Valentine (nut-free candy is acceptable) for all students in their advisory. This is optional, but if anything is brought in, all classmates in the advisory should be included. In the spirit of inclusion, we kindly ask that all valentines be the same general item for everyone in the class. Additionally, we do not exchange valentines between students outside of their homeroom. These items may be brought into class on February 12th or 13th.

This engaging 1-hour session will explore how girls experience relational challenges and transform these experiences into leadership skills.
Session Overview:
Part 1 – Didactic Presentation: Dr. Melanie Gregg will provide insights into relational aggression, its impact, and strategies for guiding girls toward positive relational and leadership growth.
Part 2 – Panel Discussion: Hear directly from SJS girl leaders as they share personal experiences with relational aggression and how they applied those lessons to develop leadership skills.
