Class 3 Field Trip to Houston Arboretum
Houston ArboretumClass Three will be visiting the Houston Arboretum and Nature Center the morning of December 5th to participate in the guided field experience, Creature Features. Students will depart campus at 9:15am and will return to campus before lunch. Students should wear their normal school uniform. -

Class 3 Math & Munchies
Stasney HallMath and Munchies is an optional morning activity to work on fun math challenges with Upper School students. -
Classes 9-11: Last day for students to withdraw from any course (semester or year-long). A WP or WF will appear on the transcript for the course. Last day to change levels.
NOTE: After the mid-term exam has been taken and the semester completed, a student may not change levels. -
US Reading Day
Reading Day is a time for students to review for exams with their teachers. Attendance is NOT required, and there is no set schedule; however, it is strongly recommended that students attend Reading Day. Students may drop by to ask questions and review information with their teachers anytime between 9:00 am and 12:00 pm. -
Candlelight
St. John the Divine - Church - ChurchPrelude at 6:45 p.m.Candlelight, a long-standing SJS tradition, will take place on Friday, December 12 at 7:00 p.m. in St. John the Divine church. The program features a variety of choral and instrumental performances, including our LS St. John's Singers. Seating is usually very tight and will be first come, first serve. If interested, you may view a livestream of the service. All families are invited afterwards to Flores Hall for the Wassail Party, which features further performances and holiday treats. -

LS Christmas Program
On the morning of December 18, please drop off your child in the LS carpool lane at the regular time (7:30-8:15 a.m.). No backpacks, water bottles, or lunch kits will be needed for this abbreviated school day.Required Concert Attire: GIRLS - red or plaid jumper, white peter-pan collared blouse, sneakers or dress shoes (no boots) with socks, optional holiday hair bow or headband, BOYS - long khaki pants, belt, white long-sleeved shirt, tie (long tie or bow tie of choice), sneakers or dress shoes (no boots) with socks. Due to the shift in uniform suppliers, please reach out to Andrew Herman if a family is unable to source a required uniform piece.Please do not park in the church lot. Parking is only available in the Taub garage.When the program concludes at 11:00 a.m., all classes will return to the LS campus and will be dismissed from the carpool lane.Jim Stamos Productions will record the event and a link will be sent to parents free of charge (no DVDs will be sold at the event).MS students with siblings in Lower School will wait by the “carpool walk-up tree" adjacent to the track and the LS building as their siblings finish the Christmas Program. Parents should pick up their MS students after the LS program. We cannot accommodate the MS students in the sanctuary at SJD. In case of inclement weather, students will remain in the MS building as they wait for their families. -
