Middle School dance introduces and expands students' understanding of anatomical principles, fundamentals of movement and beginning dance terminology. Students develop the techniques of breath control, relaxation, stretching and strengthening, while increasing their personal range of motion, exploration of three-dimensional space and awareness of injury prevention. Choreographic skills are introduced, and by Class Eight students are participating in small group improvisational movement projects.
Each dance class culminates in the performance of student choreographed group pieces. Students also perform throughout the year at various school events. Check the arts calendar
