ARMSTRONG BREAKS SCHOOL RECORD IN THE 300 HURDLES!!!

The Rebels competed at Episcopal High School for the second week in a row. With improved weather conditions, many athletes achieved both season and career personal record performances this week. Stand out performers/scorers for the Rebels include: Sallie Armstrong who won the 300Hurdles in a PR time of 47.20. Sallie broke her own St. John's School track and field record of 47.59 with this outstanding performance!! In the 100mH, Armstrong ran a season PR of 16.64 to finish second behind a Senior from St. Agnes. Sallie also finished second for her 15'7" long jump performance. Congratulations Sallie!!! Danielle Magee won the long jump with a 15'16.75" jump! Danielle also finished 3rd in the high jump for clearing 4'6". The distance runners scored well for the Rebels this weekend. Sophmore Melissa Hulme finished second in the 3200 with a time of 12:01. Captain Laura Nielsen achieved a PR for her 12:33, 3rd place finish in the 3200m run. Captain Nielsen also ran a season PR 5:50 in the 1600 to place 3rd. Also in the 3200, Allison Bailey finished 6th. Competing in the 800m run, Lauren Bell and Sarah Daniel finished 7th and 8th respectively. In the 200m dash, Courtney Miller defeated all other SPC athletes, finishing 3rd with a time of 26.82. Miller also scored for the Rebels in the 100m dash, where she finished in 7th place. Christine Wright finished 6th in both the shot put and distcus with throws of 26'3.25"(pr), and 78'8" respectively. Samantha Lott finished 8th in the shot with a PR throw of 25'1". Nicci Owusu Brackett earned a third place finish for her throw of 88'1". Freshman, Sophia Golvach scored in both long and triple jump where she finished 5th and 6th. Her triple jump mark of 30'5.5 is a pr. Congrats Rebels! Still awaiting team results.
