Part-Time Piano Teacher

St. John's School is seeking a part-time Piano Teacher. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with students in grades K–12, providing private piano instruction from beginning through advanced levels. Lessons emphasize music reading, theory, and performance. Piano teachers at St. John's work together as part of a collaborative team. This is a part-time position and is not eligible for health and welfare benefits.
St. John's School seeks educators who are collaborative, organized, and effective communicators. Successful candidates must demonstrate professionalism, the ability to work productively with students, families, and colleagues, and a commitment to contributing to a dynamic educational environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Teach private piano lessons to students in grades K–12.
  • Provide instruction for beginning through advanced piano students.
  • Emphasize music reading, music theory, and performance.
  • Collaborate with the three-member piano team.
  • Manage multiple responsibilities while meeting deadlines and priorities.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Training in both piano pedagogy and piano performance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a variety of people, including students and adults.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, multitask, and work in a fluid, dynamic environment.
