The St. John’s Visual Arts Program welcomes local artist, medical graphic designer and SJS alum Sheila Herman Hall ’97 as this year’s Artist-in-Residence!
After graduating from St. John’s School in 1997, Sheila Hall attended Rice University, where she double majored in biology and studio art. She later moved to Chicago to pursue graduate studies, earning a master’s degree in biomedical visualization from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a second master’s degree in healthcare sector management from DePaul University.
Professionally, Sheila has applied her talents in pharmaceutical advertising and medical education. Since 2013, she has been instrumental in the design and delivery of internal, patient-facing, and academic research communications for the Department of Surgery at Texas Children’s Hospital.
During her time on campus, Sheila worked with students from Lower, Middle, and Upper School on an upcoming immersive and collaborative installation titled “Pollinator Forest.”
