This year's Book Fair and Family Night will be a fun-filled, one day event held on Thursday, November 14. Family night features visiting and community authors, a delicious meal, and fun for the whole family. Lower and Middle School students will hear from our visiting author and will have a scheduled opportunity to visit the Fair with their classes and advisors. Parent volunteers are needed to set up the fair, organize displays, assist children with book selections, facilitate Family Night, and break down the fair.

Volunteers provide assistance to parent members of the Upper School community that need support due to challenging or extraordinary circumstances such as an injury, illness, or death in the family. Volunteers may be asked to provide meals, transportation, or other forms of assistance on an as-needed basis to help members of our own community.

Volunteers are needed to provide drinks, fruit, and desserts for our faculty and staff on fall and spring teacher conference days. All items will need to be delivered to the US Faculty Lounge in time for breakfast and lunch.

Welcome back students and parents while reminiscing about summer vacations during Textbook Distribution. Volunteers are needed a few days leading up to the event to assist alphabetizing boxes of completed book orders from the Bookstore. Actual day-of-event shifts available for volunteers to staff tables and distribute textbooks and supplies. Distribution will take place Friday, August 9, in the Chao Family Assembly Hall. The Used Uniform Committee manages the used uniform sales. Volunteers are needed to sort donated uniforms and organize them for sale in the used uniform closet (Q205A). All proceeds go toward the SJS Scholarship Fund. Excess or unsellable uniforms are donated to charities. Committee members are on site to assist customers with their purchases during the sales.
