PCA Presents to Middle School

Randy Youngling of the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) was on campus to present to the middle school faculty and students the message of the "Triple Impact Competitor." Where mistakes are viewed as part of learning, triple impact competitors strive to make oneself better, their teammates better, and the game better.  A long time partner with PCA, St. John's School has had several coaches and students win PCA's annual awards. Recently Alice Chambers '16, Eric Gao '16 and Akshay Jaggi '15 were honored with Triple Impact Competitor scholarships.  Former finalists for the award included Kendall Bernard '15, Jane Labanowski ’13 and Amanda Leavell ’13. Coaches Steve Gleaves and Angie Kensinger also won the Double Goal Coaching awards by emphasizing lessons of life through sports. Coach Gordon Center was a finalist for the award. Founded in 1998, PCA focuses on the roles of coaches, parents, and competitors in the athletic arena.
