St. John's School seeks a Cook Server for the school cafeteria. This position will perform multiple duties for the school in food services both Lower and Upper School. The position is full-time, hourly non-exempt position with benefits. Hours for the position are Monday – Friday 6:00a.m. to 2:30p.m.during school operations. Benefits are year round, however pay is for hours worked. Typically position does not work during the summer, spring and winter break.
Prefer high school diploma or equivalent, experience in food service area with demonstrated culinary skills and 5+ years related cooking experience in high quality, large quantity food preparation and service of foods including soups, entrees, salads and desserts. This person will function in daily school lunch meal service and a wide variety of catered events which may occur outside regularly scheduled hours. Additional garde manger responsibilities for preparation and service of sandwich platters, fruit & cheese trays, dessert trays, buffet set-up and presentation of all. This position requires a high degree of seasoning knowledge and plating presentation skills. Extra care must be taken to present food in an attractive manner.
