Congratulations to Akshay Jaggi '15, Kendall Bernard '15, and Gordon Center for being recognized at the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) annual awards breakfast.

Bernard received a nomination and Jaggi won a Triple-Impact Competitor scholarship, while Maverick Field Hockey coach Gordon Center was singled out as a finalist for the National Double Goal Coach award, sporting his signature madras slacks.

"I am a small part of the field hockey program, but I am very proud that this award reflects on the effort, attitude, and energy that our athletes and coaches invest in each other," said Coach Center.  "I'd also like to thank SJS and the PCA for recognizing the importance of girls competing and learning from playing sports."

While emcee Shern-Min Chow (KHOU-11) made note of Center's slacks, it was also revealed that Kendall Bernard played baseball in addition to field hockey, soccer and lacrosse.  Jaggi, a cross-country, soccer and track athlete, was also noted for performing Bollywood dances.

"I think the PCA Triple Impact award isn't so much a recognition of an athletes' accomplishments but rather a sign of the impact our coaches have had on us," said Jaggi.  "At SJS, we're surrounded by a coaching staff of outstanding and caring individuals."

St. John's Athletic department was in attendance at the table organized by Athletic Director Vince Arduini.
