Justise Winslow ’14 has chosen to attend Duke University for the fall of 2014.
The St. John’s 6’ 6” senior forward/guard has accumulated 2,324 points and 1,275 rebounds through his junior year. Winslow led the Mavericks to the past three SPC basketball championship games, winning in 2011 and 2012.
Justise is 14-0 as a member of the past two FIBA World Championship U-17 and U-19 teams. In 2012 he was voted U-17 First Team All-World. Most recently he was selected as the 2012-2013 Texas Gatorade Player of the Year.
"What I have been impressed by the most is that he has remained humble," said Head Coach Harold Baber.
"I would like to thank the entire St. John's community for all of the support over the years," said Justise. "As far as the Duke goes, I'm looking forward to helping Coach K win his 1000th game. The way it looks now I will likely be a part of that team."
For the team he plays for now, the St. John's Mavericks, he is looking to help them get their second win of the season.
