Pulitzer Prize and Fulbright Scholarships

 

The biography digs deep into the life of Susan Sontag, famous American author, photographer, filmmaker, and activist. Pulitzer Prizes describes Benjamin's writing as "an authoritatively constructed work told with pathos and grace that captures the writer’s genius and humanity alongside her addictions, sexual ambiguities, and volatile enthusiasms."

Additionally, we want to commend Julia Boyce '16, Amy Dong '16, and Natasha Gonzalez '16 on being awarded Fulbright Scholarships. Julia will pursue an MPhil in Modern Irish History at Trinity College in Dublin following her graduation from Tufts University. Her dissertation will examine the role of women and feminine archetypes in the context of Irish civil conflict during the twentieth century. Amy will teach English in the rural county of Yunlin, Taiwan next year after graduating from New York University. She has traveled to 25 countries in the past two years to get to know the world better. She is currently writing a book and hoping that her experiences in yet another country will provide insight for further journalistic/creative nonfiction writing endeavors. Natasha will teach English in Spain after her graduation from Harvard. The Fulbright U.S. Student Program provides grants for individually designed study/research projects or for English Teaching Assistant Programs.
