  • Directory and Online Access

    Access to our online community will provide you with additional information and insight on the school calendar, programs, and resources, including an online directory with the most up-to-date contact information for members of the St. John’s community. Please use the username and password that you used to submit an application or sign the contract. If you have problems, please click on the "Having Trouble Logging In?" link on the login page.

    Each parent has his/her own profile and login information. Login information will not change for current parents and Alumni who already have an account with St. John’s.   • Schedule and Course Registration

    Once you have officially enrolled by submitting your contract, please contact Becky Leakey, who will assist you in scheduling your course selection meeting. This meeting is for both parents and students and should occur no later than Wednesday, May 15, 2019.

  • Textbook/Course Materials

    From June through July, you will have the opportunity to order books and course materials through the SJS website. If a class does not require course materials, it will not be listed in the online ordering system. Student schedules will be released via the SJS website in early August.

  • Uniform Information

    The St. John's uniform can be purchased at any Sue Mills location. The end-of-year used uniform sale will be on Wednesday, May 22, from 8-11 a.m. The sale takes place in the Used Uniform Closet (Q205A) in the Quad on the Upper School campus.

  • Algebra and World Language Placement Exams

    The Algebra Assessment Exam is for newly-admitted 9th grade students. Parents must email Martha Childress at by Friday, April 19, with the date of their choice to take the required Algebra Assessment.

    Dates are:
    • Saturday, April 27, 9-11 a.m. in the Chao Family Assembly Hall
    • Tuesday, April 30, 4-6 p.m. in room S-104
    The World Language Placement Exam dates are:
    • Saturday, May 4, 9:30-11 a.m. Location TBD
    • Monday, May 6, 2:30-4 p.m. Location TBD

  • US Choir Placement Auditions

    US Choir Placement Audition dates will be Tuesday-Thursday, August 14-16, 3:00-6:30 p.m. in VST Room 110. These evaluations are designed as “vocal interviews,” allowing the choir directors to assess a student's vocal instrument and musicianship skills. The student will be asked to sing one verse of “My Country Tis of Thee” unaccompanied, vocalize a bit, and perform some standard sight-reading exercises. This is not a pass/fail audition.

    Six-minute evaluation slots will be assigned in grade level order (all freshmen will audition before the class retreat) and students will be notified of their assigned slots in late July. If a student is unable to meet their assigned time, he or she may trade slots with someone else on the list.
    • Les Chanteuses: 9th-10th grade girls
    • Chorale: 9th-12th grade boys; 11th-12th grade girls
    • Kantorei: 10th-12th grade boys; and 11th-12th grade girls selected from Chorale membership

  • Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Program

    Starting in August 2018, the Upper School implemented a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program. All Upper School students are required to bring a laptop computer to school. Please refer to the BYOD link in the Downloads section on the right for more information and FAQ about the program.

  • Security

    The School asks that parents place a small, circular SJS decal on the lower, passenger side of their car front windshield. Decals are available at the reception areas and parents' desks. We have fully implemented the Raptorware Visitor Management System to help track all campus visitors, including parents, vendors, and contractors. When school visitors check in, we will ask for a valid, government-issued form of identification (such as a driver’s license or passport) that will be scanned by the system. The IDs will be matched against the 50 states’ public sex offender databases, as well as data entered by the School on custody issues and restraining orders. The system will alert us to any person who might jeopardize the safety of the campus. This is not a comprehensive criminal background search—no other criminal information (traffic tickets, warrants, misdemeanors, or felonies) can be searched.

    In August, at the New Parent and Student Orientation, parents should bring a government-issued ID such as a driver's license or passport that will be scanned by the system. You will also have an opportunity to do this at the Back-to-School Coffee on August 23. Visitors to St. John's will be directed to park at the Taub Campus Parking Lot at the southwest corner of Buffalo Speedway and Westheimer. Additional parking is also available in the garage on the Taub Campus.

  • Carpool Information

    Cell phone use is prohibited while driving on campus. Gate 1 is the entrance to the Upper School carpool. Parents are asked to proceed to the circle for drop-off. Please have the student ready to exit in a prompt and orderly fashion. No unattended vehicles will be permitted during carpool. Please do not drop students off on Claremont or in the surrounding neighborhood. The exit from Gate 1 during carpool will be a right-turn-only onto Claremont.
