David Nathan
Diverting minds and lessons from the mundane, David Nathan instills lifelong knowledge from creative coursework. As a project, his students write a persuasive letter to someone of interest asking for a signed photo. Responses from Margaret Thatcher, Fidel Castro, Al Pacino, Julie Andrews, Andre Aggasi, and Yao Ming have created quite a buzz in David’s classroom. “I enjoy teaching at St. John’s because I inevitably find occasion to laugh every day,” says our English I and IV teacher, an author of two baseball quotations books. When the teacher himself is a captivating person, it is no wonder his students learn to love the subject he presents.
