Food & Beverage Purchasing Supervisor (starting May 2024)

Overview:
 
The Food & Beverage Purchasing Supervisor plays a vital role in supporting the procurement operations of our elite private K-12 independent school. This position requires extensive experience in purchasing and procurement, with a focus on sourcing, negotiating contracts, and managing vendor relationships. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in purchasing or a related field, preferably in an educational or institutional setting. This is a full-time role that comes with comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, 403b retirement plan, health & dependent savings accounts, pet insurance, and supplemental insurance.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
  • Assist in developing and implementing procurement strategies aligned with the school's objectives and budgetary constraints.
  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate contracts with vendors to ensure competitive pricing and favorable terms for goods and services.
  • Process purchase orders and coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and supplies.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels using procurement software or systems.
  • Collaborate with department heads and staff to understand their purchasing needs and provide assistance and guidance as needed.
  • Monitor vendor performance and address any issues or concerns to ensure quality products and services are delivered on time.
  • Assist in managing relationships with vendors, contractors, and suppliers to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and service level agreements.
  • Assist in evaluating and selecting vendors based on factors such as price, quality, reliability, and service.
  • Assist in managing the procurement budget and identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, regulations, and ethical standards in procurement activities.
 
Qualifications:
 
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management within the Food & Beverage industry.
  • Experience working in an educational or institutional setting preferred.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Proficiency in using procurement software and systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to procurement.
