Food & Beverage Purchasing Supervisor (starting May 2024)
Overview:
The Food & Beverage Purchasing Supervisor plays a vital role in supporting the procurement operations of our elite private K-12 independent school. This position requires extensive experience in purchasing and procurement, with a focus on sourcing, negotiating contracts, and managing vendor relationships. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in purchasing or a related field, preferably in an educational or institutional setting. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing and implementing procurement strategies aligned with the school's objectives and budgetary constraints.
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate contracts with vendors to ensure competitive pricing and favorable terms for goods and services.
- Process purchase orders and coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and supplies.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels using procurement software or systems.
- Collaborate with department heads and staff to understand their purchasing needs and provide assistance and guidance as needed.
- Monitor vendor performance and address any issues or concerns to ensure quality products and services are delivered on time.
- Assist in managing relationships with vendors, contractors, and suppliers to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and service level agreements.
- Assist in evaluating and selecting vendors based on factors such as price, quality, reliability, and service.
- Assist in managing the procurement budget and identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, regulations, and ethical standards in procurement activities.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management within the Food & Beverage industry.
- Experience working in an educational or institutional setting preferred.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Proficiency in using procurement software and systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to procurement.
