St. John's School is seeking a Substitute Nurse with the capacity to step in as required to assist with the overall well-being of the school community. This role involves actively participating in providing direct care to both students and staff when the need arises. In addition to relevant experience, successful candidates must demonstrate a passion for working with K-12 students, a commitment to furthering the School’s mission-including its strategic initiatives on community and inclusion, and an eagerness to be involved in the school community.
Primary Responsibilities:
Administer first aid, treat minor medical problems, and identify community health concerns in accordance with established school health protocols
Establish and maintain an accurate clinic inventory, including storage and tracking process for all medication and supplies handled within the Clinical Services Department
Maintain complete, accurate, and timely student records
Communicate effectively with school administration, parents/guardians, and health care providers.
Review medical reports and interpret them for appropriate administrative action, consulting with the Director of Clinical Services as necessary
Implement existing student individual health plans and emergency action plans
Qualifications:
Pediatric or School Nursing Experience
Active Registered Nurse licensure, Texas
Current First Aid/CPR certification
Strong knowledge of pediatric development and health
